Hebrew College offers many points of entry along the path of lifelong Jewish learning: Me'ah This two-year intensive adult Jewish learning program created by Hebrew College in partnership with Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, immerses you in reading core Jewish texts, grappling with concepts representing the historical, cultural and political movements from four eras—biblical, rabbinic, medieval and modern. For approximately 100 hours of class time (Me'ah means "100" in Hebrew) over a two-year period, you'll have a chance to read, think and open your mind to new ideas. Me'ah in FocusNew this fall, Me’ah in Focus is your
opportunity to focus in-depth on contemporary Jewish issues and
concepts. Study with fellow adult learners who enjoy a
challenge, guided by distinguished faculty at convenient locations
throughout the Greater Boston community. Whether you’re
a Me’ah graduate who wants to delve into a topic that intrigued you
during your
Me’ah studies, or someone who wants to experience the growth and
engagement of sophisticated
adult Jewish education, this innovative adult learning program is
designed with
your interests and busy schedule in mind. Me'ah Graduate Institute (MGI) MGI enables you to take your Me’ah experience or equivalent Jewish adult education a step further. You can study at your own pace with the best educators, and focus on the texts and topics you found most intriguing in Me'ah. Your time commitment is defined by your personal objectives. You may choose to study just for the love of learning or to enroll in our Master of Jewish Liberal Studies (MJLS) program, designed for advanced adult learners who want a challenge that fits into their busy schedules. IkkarimDesigned for parents of young Jewish children (newborn to 7), Ikkarim is a 19-week, inspirational journey through ancient texts and modern themes as you search for your ikkarim,
which in classical Hebrew refers to both "roots" and "principles."
Explore basic Jewish values and their modern significance by bringing
contemporary concerns to text study. Discover how these values apply
within and can enrich circles of relationships: with children,
spouses and friends; with the Jewish people; with ourselves and with
God. Ulpan Hebrew College’s nine-level Ulpan is New England's most comprehensive modern Hebrew program. Adapting the linguistic immersion method developed and popularized in Israel, Ulpan is a full-language program that teaches grammar, reading comprehension and conversation skills. Through discussion of contemporary political, social and cultural topics, and through readings drawn from current Israeli news and social commentary, you will advance in your Hebrew fluency and discover Hebrew as a living language.
